imaging or document management system is the management component.
The Document or Knowledge Manager provides storage and search capability for your captured
documents. Typically document or knowledge managers are centered around relational databases
like MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, ... The RDBMS provides the backbone of the
system. The document manager also stores documents securely by only allowing designated
individuals access to information. Many of the document management products listed below provide a high
degree of scalability allowing components to be allocated across multiple processors.

Alchemy
Premium is a
new client/server solution from IMR for small and medium sized enterprises
or departments of large enterprises to solve the problem of unstructured
data management. Alchemy Premium combines the classic ease of use enjoyed
by thousands of existing Alchemy customers with a powerful new Windows
database server that delivers increased scalability and reliability for
enterprise database applications.
Alchemy
Premium is also flexible in order to meet the specific application
requirements of any customer. Users can deploy any combination of Alchemy
user interfaces - Build, Search or the new customizable Alchemy Desktops
– to work with the Alchemy Server.
Alchemy Gold
Alchemy® is a Windows compatible business application that builds
document databases on low-cost computer storage and provides a variety of retrieval and
output options. Alchemy is well-known for its innovative use of new archival media such as
CD-R and DVD. It is ideal for managing large volumes of images, computer report files
(COLD), MS Office files, PDFs, AutoCAD and other common PC files, and includes all the
functions necessary for indexing, archival, query, retrieval, viewing, printing and
routing via e-mail. Alchemy also has programmable interfaces for integration with other
business applications.
Datagrabber
DataGrabber® is a front-end module for Alchemy Build that parses and
imports any ASCII data stream (Print, COM, reports or other ASCII files) directly into
Alchemy profile fields at very high speeds. DataGrabber is recommended for microfilm
replacement, computer output and production imaging applications. Service bureaus who
process ASCII data use DataGrabber. High-volume check imaging applications use DataGrabber
to match database records with the images. System analysts who distribute computer reports
use DataGrabber.
CAD2CD
CAD2CD™
is an add-on module for Alchemy that indexes the text, attributes, layers
and blocks in DWG and DXF files, and provides a runtime DWG/DXF viewer for
read-only access. Use CAD2CD and Alchemy to create CAD project databases
and distribute CAD files on CD. Replace other expensive, unreliable or
inefficient storage and distribution methods such as paper, vellum,
floppies, file cabinets and drawers or mag tapes.
CAD2CD
extends Alchemy's fast search and retrieval to DWG and DXF files. Find and
view old drawings or revisions in seconds. Search for data buried in a
source file without running AutoCAD or an expensive document manager. Give
anyone access to project data and get yourself out of the file retrieval
business.
Scan2CD
Scan2CD™ is an add-on module for Alchemy that operates popular
scanners to capture documents and uses OCR to create searchable text from
images. Although Alchemy can accept images made by other document imaging
applications, Scan2CD is completely integrated into the Alchemy Build
workspace. As a result, this is the easiest way to convert file cabinets
into a computer database that is immediately accessible from any Windows
PC or a Web browser.
Webserver
Alchemy® Web Server
(AWS) enables you to provide browser-based* Universal Access to all of
your information assets including paper documents, computer output reports
(COLD) including reports, statements, invoices with pre-printed overlays
and over 250 file types including Microsoft Office 97/2000, PDF, image
files and many other business application files.
AISI also can provide customized solutions utilizing the
Alchemy Tool Kit. We can image enable any business application
utilizing the Alchemy API !

box solution that contains hardware and software to facilitate
simple capture, electronic filing, and retrieval of documents,
whether they originate as files, faxes, scanned images, or e-mails.
It is targeted as a department level solution that is easy to
implement, configure, and operate. It functions as a passive
network office appliance that automatically captures and files
business documents for later retrieval via a Web browser.
