 At the front end of any document
imaging system is a document
capture component. This typically consists of scanner(s) and or fax
server(s).
Documents can also be captured into the system via your typical office automation products
such as MS Word, MS Excel, WordPerfect, etc... They can also
be captured via email. During the document
capture process, an indexing or profiling operation takes place. This operation
allows documents to be located at a later date by clients who have search capable
application on their desk top or internet/intranet web browser.

Virtual ReScan is an
electronic check-point for scanned images. As quickly as images pass
through the scanner, VRS performs a multi-point inspection of each
document. VRS instantly checks and adjusts for alignment (skew),
brightness, contrast, and image clarity. Any inconsistencies are
immediately corrected by VRS so that only the straightest, most readable
images are moved into your application.

Rescanning Eliminated: One of the most
time-consuming tasks in scanning is actually rescanning -- putting
documents back through the scanner and adjusting scanner settings until an
acceptable image is obtained. VRS performs all enhancements in real-time
-- no more rescanning.
Ease of Use: Scanning remains simple and easy with
VRS. Operators do not need special knowledge of scanning, resolution or
image enhancement. They just press the scan button, and VRS does the rest.
